The Archedromaeopoda (lit. "old dromaeopods") are the original branch of Dromaeopoda.
Archedromaeopoda are the earliest form of dromaeopods, first appearing around 4207ma. Their arrival resulted in the extinction of most Coleostraca, due to their superior speed and hunting abilities.
Measuring around 40cm tall, Archedromaepods are found in the forests, feeding on smaller prey such as Platydonts and land-dwelling Diplostomes. Their pedipalps are sharpened and clawed, used to help butcher their kill. While less adapted for cursorial locomotion than later species, they are still among the fastest animals found in the forests.
