Dolichognatha (lit. "elongated jaws") are a clade of Odontognatha.
First emerging around 4217ma, Dolichognathans are generally acanthivorous predators. Traits consistent among Dolichognathans are smaller pedipalps compared to other Osteopods, specialized muscles around their spiracles to prevent them from drowning while swimming, and median-paired fin swimming.
The semiaquatic clades tend to be smaller in size, measuring around a meter in height, but the fully aquatic clades are much larger, comprising the largest animals yet observed.
