Eucoelopoda (lit. "true Coelopods") are coelopods largely similar to the ancestral Sarcopods.
Of the various branches and clades of Sarcopods, the Eucoelopods are the closest to the original species, being almost identical in anatomy and lifestyle.
As this would suggest, Eucoelopods are benthic detritivores, living on the ocean floor and feeding on marine snow. Their setae allow them to detect vibrations in the water and burrow beneath the substrate as a defense mechanism.
