Archaeophyta (lit. "old plants") is the earliest lineage of chemophytes on TIRA 292b.

Description[]

As the first chemophytes, archaeophytes were the first multicellular terrestrial lifeforms on TIRA 292b. Many of their basic traits remain in most, if not all other chemophytes. These include the red algal symbiotes within their membranes, alternating asexual and sexual reproduction depending on the environment, and specialized stomata.

Archaeophytes have been described as small, slime mold-like organisms, no larger than a few centimeters. While representatives remain in the present day, they have been largely overshadowed by the xenophytes.
